About Me

Hi, I’m Robin! I’ve been knitting for over 15 years and am a lifelong crafter. The majority of my working life had been in operations and sales support where being organized, accurate and timely were key. One of the things I enjoyed most about that work was being the behind the scenes person that helped put all the details together for the people I supported.

When I learned about the world of tech editing I was excited to find something that combined my creative side and love for knitting with my detail-oriented nature.

I’m passionate about knitters having a well written pattern that is easy to follow and they can knit without worrying about errors. I want to make sure you feel confident that your patterns can deliver exactly that.

My training for tech editing includes completing the Learn to Tech Edit course by Joeli Kelly on the Tech Editor Hub.

Tech Editing Services

As a tech editor I will go through your pattern line by line to check for errors and offer suggestions all while keeping your voice as the designer.

Math

Checking the math to ensure accuracy of stitch counts and measurements

Measurements match gauge and schematics given

Charts

Charts are accurate and match the written instructions

Abbreviations are defined and used consistently

Wording and Language

Pattern adheres to style sheet
(if provided)

Consistency of style
and language used

Grammar, spelling and punctuation

How it Works

Please e-mail me and I will get back to you in 1-2 business days.

We will start with your pattern (usually sent as a pdf) and I will do a read through and provide you with an estimate and timeline.

When you approve, I will tech edit your pattern using a color coded system to point out errors and offer suggestions.

I will return the pattern to you to review and make updates. Often only one edit is needed but I will work with you until it is error free and will do a final check through (included in initial estimate) to confirm all errors have been corrected.

Once completed I will issue you an invoice via PayPal to be paid within 30 days.
